Meet Carolyn Gartner
A Lifelong Calling
Since childhood, Carolyn has been driven by one purpose: helping others. That calling led her to a 40+ year career as a Physician Assistant (PA-C), where she worked with underserved populations including migrant farm workers, premature babies, and Veterans.
More than twenty-five years ago, during one of the most challenging times of her life, Carolyn’s mother (an acupuncturist and Reiki Master) offered her Reiki. The experience was transformative: deep relaxation, restful sleep, and a gradual realignment that changed everything. She knew immediately she wanted to practice Reiki herself.
Trained in USUI Reiki Level I in 2004, what began as a personal practice in a moment of need blossomed into Palms of Light LLC, established in 2012.
Bridging Medicine & Healing
As a Physician Assistant, Carolyn brings a deep understanding of the science of the physical body to her practice. Her years in healthcare reinforced the importance of a holistic approach to wellness—body, mind, and spirit—for authentic health.

- USUI Reiki Master (2008)
- Karuna Reiki® Master — trained in Hawaii (2014)
- 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (2015)
- Holy Fire® Reiki Master (2016)
- Nationally Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, NBC-HWC (2017)
- ICRT Holy Fire® II Karuna Reiki® — trained in the UK, final ignition at Stonehenge (2017)
- Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master (2019)
- Certified Sound Practitioner (2022)
- 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Training — in progress (currently E-RYT 200)
A New Chapter
Now retired from her PA-C role, Carolyn is deeply passionate about addressing burnout, especially among healthcare providers, and empowering people with the tools they need to live as their most authentic selves.
As an Innovator Network Investee two consecutive years, she designed virtual wellness programs offered across the US through the VA — programs that proved successful for both employees and Veterans.
Carolyn is a Yoga Alliance Certified Provider (YACEP) and an affiliate member of the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT).

Credentials & Certifications
Basic information and education regarding physical conditions will be explored, but no medical advice will be offered. Carolyn does not function in her PA-C capacity while working with clients through Palms of Light LLC. Reiki, Yoga, and Coaching are not recommended as an alternative to conventional medical treatment but as a powerful additional tool to “fill the gaps.”
